1:00PM 4:00PM Chinese Paddle Auction SMILE is having a Chinese Paddle Auction on Saturday, March 9th from 1 to 4 PM at the Bloomsburg Fire Company. SMILE is a group for Single mothers, individually, living empowered. The auction will also have food, fun and vendors. The Bloomsburg Fire Company is located on Market Street in Bloomsburg.
2:00PM 5:00PM Flood Stories, Too The Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble joins the Bloomsburg University Players and the Bloomsburg Bicentennial Choir to present Flood Stories, Too. They transform your words and your stories about the record-breaking flood caused by Tropical storm Lee in the fall of 2011 into an epic production of heartbreak and survival. Performances will be from March 7th to March 17th. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evening performances begin at 7:30 PM. There are also afternoon performances on Saturday at 2PM and Sunday at 3 PM. All performances are pay what you wish.

How Shaping Our Stories Shapes Our Lives and Communities”, from 5 to 6:30 PM in room 1303 of the McCormick building on the university campus. On Saturday, join Arlene Goldbard and Gerard Stropnicky will discuss “What Happens When Communities Participate in Telling Their Own Stories”, at 4:30 PM at the Alvina Krause Theatre on Center Street. On Sunday, Gerard Stropnicky will present “Flood Stories, Too: Context ad Process”, from 12:30 to 2 PM at the Moose Exchange on Main Street in Bloomsburg.

All Day Downtown Bloomsburg Local Artist Day Downtown Bloomsburg is hosting a special community arts event “Downtown Bloomsburg Local Artist Day” on Saturday, March 9th at various locations throughout Downtown Bloomsburg. The event includes art openings at ArtSpace, The Moose Exchange, and other downtown locals featuring the Susquehanna River Arts artists. All Day 5K Run 3K Walk The Autism Speaks group at Bloomsburg University invites you to join them for a 5K run and 3K walk this Saturday. Registration cost is $12.00 for adults, $10.00 for students, and children under 12 years are free. All donations raised go to Autism Speaks. Registration starts at 10:00 AM at Monty’s on the Upper Campus of Bloomsburg University, and the walk/run takes place on the outdoor track of the Nelson Field House starting at 11:00 AM. They’ll also have prizes, goodies, and fun.
All Day Art Installation Project Bloomsburg University’s Haas Center for the Arts will soon become home to an original art piece designed to celebrate the collaboration of the university and the greater Bloomsburg community. The piece, titled Confluence, will be a 7 foot by 60 foot depiction of the growth and activity of a small town and how the beauty of nature has inspired a wealth of visual art and cultural enrichment in the area. 19 Susquehanna River Artists have collaborated to construct 18 large tiles that will be installed every two weeks until the piece is completed on May 3rd.
