8:00AM 10:00AM Pancake Breakfast The Columbia County Christian School class of 2014 will be hosting a pancake breakfast at the Bloomsburg Applebees on October 6th from 8:00AM to 10:00AM. With pancake specials and special pancakes, the cost will be $7 for adults and $5 for children 10 and under.
9:30AM 2:30PM Cavalry Baptist Church Women's Fall Conference Cavalry Baptist Church's Women's Fall Conference will be held 9:30AM-2:30PM on Saturday, October 6th. Missionary Deb Barnum will be speaking, and a concert by Duane Keefer will be held. Cost will be $10 in advance and $15 at the door.
10:00AM 6:00PM Covered Bridge and Arts Festival The 31st annual Covered Bridge and Arts Festival is happening Thursday October 4th through Sunday October 7th from 10 to 6 daily. The festival is held at Knoebels and features nearly 350 crafters and over 30 food vendors.
10:00AM 4:00PM Twin Bridges Arts Festival The 3rd Annual Twin Covered Bridges Arts Festival is happening Saturday October 6th. Over a dozen local artists will gather at the Twin Covered Bridges in Forks to share their work with you. From 10am to 4pm the day will be filled with free entertainment and food from Steph's Subs. 10:00AM 12:00PM Saturday Trains Program The free Saturday Trains program will be going this Saturday and every Saturday from 10:00AM to Noon at Christ Memorial Episcopal Church at the corner of Pine and Eask Market in Danville. The free program will have free refreshments, and trains for children and adults to play with.
12:00PM 6:00PM Community Day Lyla's Hope Community Day will be going on at Washington Park off route 54 in Ashland on Saturday, October 6, 2012, from noon to 6PM. Lyla's Hope is a non-profit with the mission of helping kids and families with Spina Bifida. There will be activities for kids and adults, including balloons, face painting, and sand art, with live music performances for the adults.
5:00PM 8:00PM Open Bowling at the Moose Exchange Open Bowling will be going on at the Moose Exchange on Fridays from 5:00PM to 8:00PM, and Saturdays, 10:00AM to 2:00PM. All Day Scarecrow Decorating Contest The Orangeville Public Library will hold a family scarecrow decorating contest this September and October. Scarecrow frames will be available at for pick up between September 17th to October 13th. Voting for the scarecrows begins October 15th. Prizes will be awarded. All Day Art Exhibit Northern Columbia Community and Cultural Center, Benton will be hosting a new exhibit displaying the works of Rolland Ryan and Jay McHenry. The exhibit will run through October at the N4C's in Benton. For additional information please call the Center at 925-0163.
All Day Toys for Tots The annual Toys for Tots Campaign will run October 1st through December 22nd. Keep your eyes open for drop off boxes in our area to donate new unwrapped toys for children in need in our area to make their Christmas special. You can bring donations of toys for this year's campaign to the WHLM Studios location on East Main Street in Downtown Bloomsburg.
6:00PM 8:00PM Trivia Night S.M.I.L.E. is having a trivia night fundraiser on October 6th at New Covenant Christian Center. The trivia starts at 6:00 PM and cost is $10 per person or $80 for a team table. Contact Vicki for tickets at 516-5615.
All Day Ceramic Crock Sale The Bloomsburg Public Library is offering their first “Historic Bloomsburg” series of ceramic crocks to commemorate Bloomsburg's iconic buildings. In honor of their first release they will feature the 1925 Bloomsburg Public Library building on this year's crock. To see a sample and order your crock just stop by their location on Market Street in Bloomsburg. Orders are being accepted through the end of the year....proceeds benefit the library's programs.
