8:40AM 10:10AM 9-11 Tribute Gary O'Neal, AMVETS Honor Guard Bugler, will play taps in Berwick on Tuesday in remembrance of 9-11. He will start at the Ranger Fire Company on East Front Street at 8:46 AM, the time Flight 11 flew into the North Tower. At 9:03 AM, he will be in front of Reliance on West Third Street...the time the south tower was hit. At 9:40 AM he will play Taps at the Nescopeck VFW, in honor of Flight 77 striking the Pentagon. And finally, he will sound taps at 10:06 AM at The Jackson Mansion in honor of United Flight 93. You are welcome to come out to pay your respects.
All Day Pennsylvania Hands The Shamokin and Coal Township Public Library presents “Pennsylvania Hands” a narrative visual celebration of the traditional crafts of Pennsylvania alive. The crafts of blacksmith, weaver, bookbinder, spinner, and more will be highlighted in the journey. The project will be on display through the month of September. The library is located in Shamokin.
6:30PM 7:30PM Book Buddies The Bloomsburg Public Library welcomes book buddies Chloe, Bella, and Reily back on Tuesday September 11th. They are therapy dogs who will sit and listen to your kids practice their read aloud skills. They'll be there at 6:30 PM. The library is located on Market Street in Bloomsburg.
6:30PM 7:30PM NASA Talk The Bloomsburg Public Library will host Dr. Mike Shepard of Bloomsburg University on Tuesday September 11th. Dr. Shepard will talk about the NASA Mars rover “Curiosity.” The program starts at 6:30 PM. The library is located on Market Street in Bloomsburg.
7:00PM 8:00PM Historical Society Presentation The Columbia County Historical and Genealogical Society presents “The Persistence of Powwowing in the Anthracite Coal Region” on Tuesday at Wesley United Methodist Church. The program starts at 7:00 PM, and light refreshments will be provided. The church is located at the corner of Third and Market Streets in Bloomsburg.
