||Danville Spring Fling
||Danville’s annual Spring Fling is scheduled for Saturday May 5th 9:00 am to 5:00 pm rain or shine. The event brings almost 200 vendors to Mill, Mahoning, and Lower Mulberry Streets with crafts and foods. There will be free live entertainment, free parking, and also a free shuttle service in Downtown Danville.
||The Free Saturday Trains Program at Christ Memorial Episcopal Church in Danville will be open on Saturday from 10:00 am to noon. The display features their talking train along with dozens of trains for you and your kids to play with. The church is located at the corner of Pine and East Market Streets in Danville.
||The Elysburg Fire Hall will host bingo to benefit the Children’s Museum on Saturday May 5th. Doors will open at 11:00 am, with early bird games starting at 12:30 and regular games at 1:00. Tickets are $25 at the door. The fire hall is located on East Mill Street in Elysburg.
||The Columbia Valley Women of the Moose Chapter located in Bloomsburg will host a Pampered Chef and Longaberger Basket Bingo on Saturday May 5th from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. Doors open at noon for food. Twenty games will be twenty dollars…and the bingo will benefit the Women of the Moose.
||Katy’s Church will hold their first Victorian Tea Party on Saturday May 5th. They’ll be serving sandwiches, desserts, and tea from 2:00 to 5:00 PM. Tickets are $10.00 and proceeds will benefit the renovation of the 143-year-old church. Katy’s Church is located on the corner of Katy’s Church and Wolfe Hollow Roads in Madison Township.
||The Bloomsburg University Community Orchestra Symphony Ball is scheduled for Saturday May 5th at 6:00 pm. The festive evening of dancing and music is happening in the Kehr Union Ballroom. Tickets are required, for information call 389-4289.
||Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble
||The Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble presents their latest production “In the Next Room, Or the Vibrator Play,” May 3rd through May 20th. Show times are Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights at 7:30 and Sunday afternoons at 3:00 pm. For tickets call the Alvina Krause Theatre Box Office at 784-8181.
||The Thomas Beaver Free Library presents the narrative photo project “Pennsylvania Hands” during the month of May. The project is a visual celebration of individuals who keep alive the traditional crafts that built Pennsylvania's dynamically diverse culture. On Thursday May 31st artist Sally Wiener Grotta will lead a slide show discussion at the library at 6:00 pm. The library is located on Ferry Street in Danville.
||The Bloomsburg Theater Ensemble presents “In The Next Room or the vibrator play” May 3rd through May 20th. Show times are Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights at 7:30 PM and Sunday afternoons at 3:00 PM. The show is for mature audiences.
||Civil War Talk
||Ridge Street United Methodist Church will host George Turner on Saturday May 5th at 7:45 pm. Turner will present “Fort Sumter Crisis and the Start of the Civil War: An Examination of the Policies of the Presidents Buchanan and Lincoln.” The program is free. The church is located on Ridge Street in Almedia, and is handicapped accessible.
