Columbia Montour Vo-Tech vs Sayre, Saturday September 1st
Columbia Montour Vo-Tech only returned two skill position players to begin the 2012 season. Each contributed, but the Rams failed to muster enough offense as they fell, 27-0, to Sayre in their season opener Saturday afternoon.
Junior Colton Appleman, who moved from the offensive line to tight end midway through last season, had two catches for seven yards while senior Walker Fetterman chipped in with Vo-Tech’s longest catch of the day, an 18-yard reception from new quarterback Dylan Larkin.
The low score for the losing team in a Rams’ game is not unusual. The last time a losing team in a Vo-Tech game scored more than 14 points was Sept. 17, 2010, when the Rams nipped East Juniata, 22-20. The losing team has scored 14 or less in Vo-Tech’s last 20 games.
