Central vs. Mount Carmel 11/9/12

The Central Columbia Blue-Jays had quite the season...losing to only Mount Carmel, Southern, and Bloomsburg...three tough opponents who also moved on to the district playoffs. The Blue Jays had one more chance to beat Mount Carmel Friday night in a District 4 Class AA playoff game, and for the first half of the game they were able to stop the Red Tornados. But Mt. Carmel's defense also kept Central from putting any points on the board. In the end it was a shut out with Mount Carmel defeating Central 17-0. Friday night was the first time Central made it to a postseason game since 2004. The Blue Jays end their season with an impressive 7-4 record.

Central @ Bloomsburg 11/2/12

The Central Columbia Blue Jays battled it out with local rival Bloomsburg Friday night at Bloomsburg University's Redman Stadium. The Blue Jay defense had a hard time keeping the Bloomsburg Panther offense from finding each other in the endzone during the first half. Going into halftime down 27-6. Central's first half score came in the first quarter with a 76-yard pass from Jordan Thivierge to Dylan Hine. The team missed out on the extra points with a failed run. The team did a good job of keeping Bloomsburg from putting any points on the board in the third quarter...and Thivierge and Hine found each other once again for a 31-yard TD pass. In the end the Bloomsburg Panther's came out on top 34-12. Both teams move on to district playoffs this week.
