Bloomsburg University Two Minute Drill Archives for 2012-09

Bloomsburg University at L.I.U. Post Saturday, September 22


Trailing by six after three quarters, Bloomsburg exploded for three 4th quarter touchdowns to beat L.I.U. Post 42-27 avenging last season's loss to the Pioneers. Senior wide receiver Kyle Fisher caught six passes for a career high 196 yards and three touchdowns all from quarterback Tim Kelly to pace the Huskies' attack. Fisher's touchdowns came on plays of 3 yards, 73, and 60 yards. Ryan Dickerson recovered a Franklyn Quiteh fumble for a touchdown, and Eddie Mateo ran 42 yards for a score, and Kelly scored on a one yard keeper as the Huskies improved to 4-0. L.I.U.Post fell to 2-1.

Kutztown at Bloomsburg University September 15


Junior Franklyn Quiteh ran for two touchdowns and caught a 65 yard touchdown pass as the Huskies beat defending PSAC Champion Kutztown 44-37 before a big Parents Day crowd at Danny Hale Field at Redman Stadium. The Huskies had a 30-21 lead early in the third quarter when Kutztown's outstanding quarterback Kevin Morton suffered a shoulder injury. He did not return to the game, but sophomore backup Josh Luckenbaugh threw two touchdown passes to keep the Golden Bears in the game. Bloomsburg quarterback Tim Kelly was 16-28 in passing for 246 yards and two touchdowns in a wild game that featured over 1000 yards in total offense. With loss, Kutztown falls to 1-2. The Huskies improve to 3-0. It was the PSAC East opener for both teams.

Edinboro at Bloomsburg University Saturday, Septmeber 8


Bloomsburg struck early marching off the opening kickoff on a 77 yard drive capped on an 11 yard touchdown run by Franklyn Quiteh. That gave the Huskies an early lead that they never relinquished in a 30-14 win over Edninboro in the home opener at Danny Hale Field at Redman Stadium. Eddie Mateo led the Huskies with 148 rushing yards and a touchdown. Quiteh had 134 yards and a score. Quarterback Tim Kelly threw a 25 yard touchdown pass to Kyle Fisher. It was a big day for the Huskies junior kicker Dan Fisher who kicked three field goals including a school record 52 yarder. He also had a 65 yard punt.With the win Bloomsburg Improves to 2-0. For Edinboro it was their season opener.

Bloomsburg University at Stonehill College Friday, August 31


Running backs Franklyn Quiteh and Eddie Mateo picked up where they left off last season in leading the Huskies to a 44-28 win over Stonehill College in the first meeting ever of the two schools. Quiteh rushed for 218 yards and one touchdown, moving up to 4th place on the Huskies all time career rushing list. Mateo had 114 yards and two touchdowns. Last season Quiteh and Mateo both rushed for over 1000 yards, the only duo in the country to accomplish that feat. Redshirt freshman quarterback Tim Kelly, in his college football debut, completed 16 of 26 passes for 197 yards including a 46 yard touchdown pass to Matt Marchioni in the first quarter. Defensively the Huskies had five interceptions and four sacks. Former Husky basketball star Larry Webster, a senior playing football first the first time since his high school days, had both a sack and an interception.
