Bloomsburg HS Two Minute Drill: Week Four

Bloomsburg moved to 3-1 this week with a big win over Jersey Shore, 35-13. Special teams were the story for the Panthers who swarmed to the ball all game. Ricky Klingerman converted on two fourth down touchdowns to John Klingerman, to lift Bloomsburg over a reeling Jersey Shore. Jersey Shore made a late push with great running coming from back Utoah Agaenaipo, who managed 71 second half yards. Bloomsburg travels to Mongomery this week.

Bloomsburg High School Two Minute Drill: Week Three

Bloomsburg @ Warrior Run Friday September 14, 2012

The Bloomsburg Panthers came away from Warrior Run with a big win Friday night. They kept Warrior run to just one touchdown in the first half and sailed onto a 46-7 victory over the Defenders. The team had a total of 405 yards for the game. This week the Panthers are at home against Jersey Shore in the WHLM High School Game of the week.

Bloomsburg HS Two Minute Drill: Week Two

The Bloomsburg Panthers were able to rebound from a troubling week 1 loss with an impressive showing against Hughesville, racking up 41 points in their 41-14 route. Quarterback Ricky Klingerman passed for over 300 yards in the home opener at Panther Stadium, connecting with John Klingerman for his two touchdowns through the air. This was a big turnaround for a Bloomsburg team that struggled defensively in week one, limiting Hughesville to less than 240 yards of total offense. The Panthers travel to Warrior Run next week, hoping to improve to 2-1 on the season.

Bloomsburg Two Minute Drill: Week One

Bloomsburg @ South Williamsport, Friday August 31st

While Blake Rankin piled up gaudy numbers and attention during Bloomsburg’s run to the District IV AA championship game, the secret weapon in the Panthers’ late season run was the improved play of their defense.

After allowing 67 in a loss to Southern Columbia and 40 in a defeat at Hughesville, the Panthers did not allow more than 28 in a game the rest of the season. That was plenty for an offense which was not held under 27 in their first 11 games.

In their first game without Rankin as the starting quarterback since 2007, Bloomsburg hit the 27-point mark, but it was the struggles to contain the South Williamsport running game that contributed to a 34-27 road loss Friday night. The Mounties ran for 318 yards and four scores on 38 carries as they picked up their first Heartland Conference Division III win over Bloomsburg since the conference’s inception in 2008.
