Wyoming Valley West senior running back Derrick Simms had a career night and the Spartan defense did not allow an offensive touchdown as Wyoming Valley West dominated the Bulldogs 33-15. Simms had 250 yards rushing and two touchdowns for the Spartans who led 22-15 at the half and shut out the Bulldogs in the second half. Berwick's only touchdowns came in the second quarter on an 85 yard kick off return by Matt Cashman and a 37 yard interception return by linebacker Jordan Stout for a score. The final stats tell the story- 366 total yards for Wyoming Valley West which improves to 2-2 on the season and beats Berwick for the 4th straight time. Just 78 total yards for the Bulldogs who fall to 3-1.

Dallas at Berwick September 14

Junior quarterback C.J. Curry threw two touchdown passes and ran for a 23 yard score to lead Berwick to a 50-14 win over Dallas, avenging a 53-20 loss to the Mountaineers last season. Curry finished the game 11-20 in passing for 256 yards. Senior running back Matt Cashman ran for 102 yards and three touchdowns. Dallas stayed in the game in the first half with two big plays- a 58 yard touchdown run by Kris Roccograndi and an 82 yard touchdown pass Ryan Zapoticky to Jason Simonovich. Wth the win, Berwick improves to 3-0; Dallas falls to 0-3.

Pottsville at Berwick Friday, September 7

Berwick outgained Pottsville 337 yards to 54 in the first half, built a 28-0 lead at the break, and went on to beat the Crimson Tide 41-0 in the first meeting of the schools since 2004. Quarterback C.J. Curry completed 7 passes for 248 yards and three touchdowns, one each for Jeff Steeber, Jake Pecorelli, and Andrew Force. Matt Cashman ran for 108 yards and one touchdown. With the win, Berwick inmproves to 2-0. Pottsville falls to 1-1.

Game summary- Berwick at Crestwood Friday, August 31

Senior running back Matt Cashman ran for 285 yards and three touchdowns as Berwick built a 34-7 halftime lead and went on to beat Crestwood 48-21. Senior Jake Pecorelli ran for two touchdowns and caught two touchdown passes from quarterback C.J. Curry. In his starting debut, Curry completed 9 of 12 passes for 148 yards and also ran for a touchdown. The Bulldogs amassed 522 total yards in the return of head coach George Curry who got his 414th career win in his first game at Berwick since 2005.
